A professional bowler once said, “strikes are for show and spares are for dough".  In other words, the "big shots" may get most of the attention but it’s the less noticeable but still "effective efforts" that pay the bills at the end of the day.

Whether that applies to bass fishing it's debatable.  Sure a bunch of 5th or 10th place finishes can earn valuable points and easily propel a local angler to a "club classic" or finish in the top "ten" anglers of the year.  At the same time, the really "big points" and "big money" are reserved for those who have the passion to fish "Monday through Sunday".  This is how "Team Livin The Dream" got started......

"Team Livin The Dream" got started several decades ago; members Trever Harkness and Gary Cazier were high school buddies that not only had a passion for the sport of bass fishing but whose friendship endured over time.  It is just like we never grew out of it, we are always harassing each other....maybe that's why we get along so well and complement each other in the boat.  Gary is a "power" fisherman and I like to slow down and "finesse" for the big ones.

Our teams’ record of success is unprecedented, in 2010 we were on the water fishing more than 60 days either practicing or competing in local events. We competed in 41 tournaments and placed in 17 of those events in the top "3" positions or better with 6 wins for "Big Bass" of the tournament. In 2011, we are planning to participate in a grueling 57 tournament events throughout Michigan.

As I mentioned, we are an extremely energetic and enthusiastic team who holds a great passion for the sport and our faith. We believe our ability to stand out in a crowd is unparallel. With our education/professional careers in engineering and the medical field; we feel that this has enhanced our ability to communicate with our peers as well as the younger generation of anglers in our area.

Another great attribute is our geographical location. Tourism in Michigan is exploding and one major draw is our proximity to Lake Michigan and Lake Erie.  We have some of the best smallmouth fishing in the country, not to mention the walleye and steelhead fishing that flood our tributaries each spring and fall.

I learned from a very early age about the importance in having good people around you.  I am very fortunate to watch my father live out his "passion" and "motivation" for the outdoors.  That is what sticks in my mind the most and I guess that's where I get it from.  Even at an early age, "God" was placing people in my life to shape me and send me on my journey.  His sovereign fingerprints are everywhere. Now, well over a decade pursuing my passion as a bass fisherman, I often reflect on my past.......looking back at where I've been..............is a great reminder for where WE are going.

The name "Team Livin The Dream" started off as a comical come back to how I was "feeling" on a particular day...........however, it is just that.  We are living the dream.  Gary and I feel we are blessed to be doing what we love and have the support from our families and our sponsors.

Thanks again for supporting us we look forward to a great 2011 season.

Blessings
